How to Protect Your Property and Privacy Legally with One Simple Sign

How to Protect Your Property and Privacy Legally with One Simple Sign

As a professional writer, I've written for a lot of different clients, from celebrities like Steve Martin and Terry Bradshaw to "Shark Tank," to small businesses just wanting to increase their brand recognition and I will continue to do this. I also write about many important topics such as how to increase your personal security. I wrote for ADT once and gave tips on how to stay safe and keep prowlers at a distance.

But some things need to be brought to attention about prowlers and potential thieves. They are not always what they seem. Having studied forensic psychology for many decades, it's wise to remember that the most obvious ones are not always the criminals. Sometimes they come with a "pretext" of wanting to help you. For example, it could be a salesman at your door under the pretense of selling insurance, a lawn person asking if they can mow your lawn, or someone leaving a business card at your door. I'm not saying everyone who does this is a criminal, but criminals DO practice these behaviors sometimes to see how close they can get to you or your property. The psychology behind this is that they know they need a viable REASON to be there at your door or property, so they make up a story that is both believable and reasonable.

So, before you answer the door, remember that it could be someone selling you something or someone just wanting access to your home and property. One sign will do the trick many times because of the legal power behind it.

NO TRESSPASSING means just what it says: Do not stand on or enter my property for ANY reason. In fact, I put one up recently and  a lawyer told me that once you have posted this sign, it means you have issued a legal warning to any potential criminal. If they get on your property after seeing this sign, they have broken the law and you can call the police and have them arrested.

This may seem harsh or overreacting. But it's not. The law views someone who would enter a property, stand on your porch, knock on your door, or other to be an act of aggression and defiance against your request not to trespass. Therefore, if the police come after they have done so, it can be considered a misdemeanor on the first offense and a felony on subsequent offenses.

I bought myself this NO TRESSPASSING SIGN recently on Amazon and it seems to do the trick so far. It's large enough to see from several feet away, features bold red and white lettering and warns that "violators will be prosecuted." This isn't just a bluff.

If they get on your property, they CAN be prosecuted. Get yours now at Amazon and post it in clear view of the road or driveway. You may be amazed at the difference. I'm not saying it's the only thing you should do. I also have an ADT system connected to the police station as well as a call button that summons help immediately if I see anyone suspicious. Having cameras hidden in strategic places outside is also wise. Whether or not you want the camera in an obvious location or hidden will depend on whether you want to use it to scare potential criminals away or actually get them on camera to observe their behavior. Check out this Blink indoor security camera for your home while you're shopping for security solutions!

But this sign sends the message that, unless you invited someone, they are NOT WELCOME!

Stay safe!

Tulips in the Springtime

 Tulips in the Springtime

Today I was thinking about the beautiful tulips and daffodils that I planted and grew for Mom and Dad a couple of years ago. I got the bulbs from a bulb company that specializes in tulips and planted them in the Fall. Then in the spring, they came up like crazy and were really beautiful. This is a picture of some of them in the picture by our fountain. I also had a variety of other colors that year including bright yellow, peachy orange, and a blend between orange and white and yellow that were just gorgeous. Dad (and Mom) both enjoyed them, and I had planted them in large pots and set them on a table on the patio deck so they could look out and see them. I'll include a few more pictures of them in a later post. Tulips are hearty and pretty easy to raise. The key is planting them at the right time and then watering them often and being patient while they grow. They produce beautiful flowers of different colors (depending on the variety) and they are elegant and strong and can be put in bouquets and vases.

Whatever flowers you prefer to grow or even if you just want nothing more than keeping your lawn healthy, start with the best garden hose nozzle I have ever found-the RAINPOINT GOLDEN NOZZLE found on Amazon.

I shop for Amazon for just about everything and now I have been asked to become a partner with their Creative Brands associate program. This means I will share links to products that I love and that I think my readers will enjoy. In full disclosure, I do receive a small commission if you purchase anything through my link, but this is a great way for me to use my writing ability (I've been a professional writer for 13 years), and to create a little passive income. Rest assured, though, I only post links to products I either own or truly like and can honestly recommend to others.

I made a couple of videos on this nozzle that you can watch below. I used it to wash my car and water plants and it's the best hose nozzle I've ever seen! It's also pretty in shiny gold with a plethora of different settings. Check it out and see if you like it, too. Grow your garden and enjoy nature this spring!

Gearing up for springtime

 Gearing Up for Springtime!

It's springtime and time to get out and enjoy some "nature therapy!" Whether it's about growing your favorite tropical plants (I personally like caladiums, palm trees, and dwarf fruit trees), but I also have other favorites like hybrid tea roses, miniature roses you can grow in pots, and just about anything you can grow outside or in your lawn.

My parents always loved to watch songbirds like the Northern Cardinal (pictured), bluebirds, robins, and many other birds that call your yard and lawn their home.

We put our birdseed out to encourage their visits, and some of them have taken up residence close to the house, which is fine with us! The nature that you can see in your own yard is amazing.

To keep your lawn and yard looking it's best, we've been on the lookout for some handy garden tools and lawncare equipment that can help. Check out this

LawnMaster MEB1114K Electric Corded Lawn Mower

This is not your usual lawnmower, folks! This one requires no gas or batteries to run! Just plug it in and go!  Just plug it into any available outside cord and use your own outside extension cord if you need more length. This quiet but super-efficient lawnmower will make your neighbors wonder if you ever mow your yard at all!!

Imagine never having to create noise or gas emissions, enjoying an easy-to-use lawnmower, and reducing your carbon footprint while helping the earth.

Check it out here while it's at a great price on Amazon.

Disclaimer: I do receive a small percentage of sales when you purchase via my links. But I've always done product reviews, and I will only recommend products I own myself or that I know are worth recommending.

I truly think you will love this alternative to the noisy gas mower you may have right now. Anyone can push this light mower and cut their own grass in just minutes, saving money on hiring someone to do it!

I hope you enjoy springtime! I will be featuring a few other products, like a really cool golden water hose nozzle. I am ordering mine as I speak because it's gorgeous and looks really high quality.

My blog focuses mostly on digital media and technology, but I always try to offer my readers something that will help them in other aspects of their lives, as well. My other business, Nature Therapy Candles, was inspired by the beauty and therapeutic value of nature and all it offers.

Keeping your lawn looking great allows you to enjoy it even more! Step into the future with the electric mower by Lawnmaster. You'll be glad you did!
